Wednesday, 17.07.2024, H.E. Dr. Abdulhadi Lahweej, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Libyan Government, received H.E. Mr. Sami Al-Dhawi, the Minister of Local governance. The meeting discussed the importance of coordination and joint cooperation between the two ministries, especially regarding municipalities' adherence to the procedures issued by the Ministry of Local Governance through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in dealing with international governmental and non-governmental organizations, to ensure the sovereignty of the Libyan state and the implementation of Circular No. (2) year 2024, issued by the Ministry of Local governance, regarding dealing with international organizations, and to coordinate joint efforts to ensure coordination with the local partner and work with them according to the local partner’s real needs, not according to the pre-prepared plans by the organizations. They also emphasized the continuation of close cooperation for the benefit of the Libyan government and the Libyan people in general.
