Sunday, July 14th 2024, at the Ministry's headquarters in Benghazi, Dr. Abdulhadi Lahweej, The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Libyan Government, received Mr. Said Benkiran, the Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco, in a bilateral meeting. During the meeting they discussed some issues of mutual interest, including the situation of the Moroccan community in the areas under the Libyan Government, where the Minister assured to the Consul General Said Benkiran that there are no Moroccans detained, imprisoned or convicted in the areas under the Libyan Government. His Excellency also indicated that Moroccan brothers are welcome to work and reside, same as all Arab, African and foreign counterparts, within a framework of law and functional state institution. In response, the Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco, Said Benkiran, praised the distinguished level of bilateral relations between Libya and the Kingdom of Morocco, and affirming that the two sides intend to achieve more successes and activate the provisions of the joint action plan in order to raise the relations to broader horizons, he also commended on the level of security and stability in the cities and regions within the frame of Libyan Government, which presents a testament to efforts of the armed forces and all security agencies.
